When, capsule where and why did you decide to start bartending?
I moved from Tunisia to Montreal about 8 years ago to study design. After a few years, I needed a job with more cash and ended up being a waiter. I was fascinated more though by the aspect of bartending so, step-by-step, I made my way into it and it became a passion and a way of living for me.
What is your favourite cocktail?
I have to say that since last year my favourite cocktail is now a Hanky Panky.
If you could work with any other bartender in the world for one night who would it be?
I love all form of cocktail making techniques and was highly inspired and influenced by Jamie boudreau and the head duo at The Nightjar in London. Needless to say, I would love to guest bartend with any of those guys.
Where are you working now and what is your cocktail style for that bar?
Since I moved to Toronto a few months ago, I am lucky to have found an establishment that fit me the most in terms of flavors and creativity. Mamakas Taverna is for me one of the best embodiment of mediterranean culture and I’m always striving to bring those flavors to people here in Canada.
